O, Christmas Tree
The Friday after Thanksgiving we went to Kidman Tree Farm in Polk City to buy our Christmas tree. It was a chilly, windy day, but it was fun to take Isaac for his first Christmas tree. We usually go to Captain Jack's, but they closed after last year's season. This tree farm was great for us because a lot of the trees are smaller-just like our house! Last year we made the mistake of getting a tree that looked small-and then we got it home and it took up half of our living room! This tree was the perfect size and with all the new ornaments I bought on clearance after Christmas last year and for cheap throughout this year, it looks 10 times better than last year's. I am in the process of making our stockings-they WILL be done by Christmas. We had a great time and Isaac didn't even cry when he told Santa what he wanted this year. Ok, so we cheated and backed him into Santa's lep-he never really saw Santa. Hey, you do what you gotta do, right? Isaac looked so cute all bundled up-of course he hated having all of it on, but at least he was a toasty little guy!

Almost Re-Blogging
Whew! I decided to make our blog a little more festive by adding a new background. I had to find one that wasn't from Blogspot-there wasn't anything I liked. I figured out how to edit the HTML (Yay me!) and then before I saved my changes it said it was going to delete some of the links. So I thought I understodd what it meant and saved the links to everyone else's blogs to put them in again. I saved my changes and viewed our blog. Well, I was in a state of panic because only the pictures from my posts were there-not any of the words. Yikes! Luckily, it was becausethe font color and the background were both set at white. That was easy enough to chance. Needless to say, I think I will save the text from my posts elsewhere so that if it all does it get lost for real, I'll have a back-up and won't have to re-blog it all. So anyways...enjoy the festiveness of our blog-I'll probably be changing it often.

Baby's First Boo-boo
Oops! I was cutting Isaac's nails and I don't know if he moved or if I was just a bad mom-either way, I cut his little finger and it wouldn't stop bleeding! He didn't cry at all so I'm assuming (and hoping!) that it didn't hurt him. Of course we didn't have any tiny band-aids so Jake put his EMT skills to use and made a little band-aid for him. We took it off him before we went to bed because he loves to put his fingers in his mouth and we were afraid he might suck it off and choke on it. It's been a few days now and his little finger is looking much better.

Bye-Bye Boppy
We used to put Isaac on the Boppy pillow for tummy time....but we decided to not do that anymore as it appeared he may break his little body using it. As funny as it is, we'd like him to not be in pain if it can be avoided.

We Love Lobster!
We went on the train in Boone tonight for a pre-Halloween activitiy. Jake's whole family went-all 23 of us! It was a lot of fun, but the train was loud-just because there were so many people. We rode for about half an hour and then got off where there were lots of pumpkins for us to choose from. Then we rode back to the train station. I will need to get some other pictures of Isaac put on here. We didn't get any pictures that show his whole costume-he was a little lobster. He was so cute! I don't know that he really liked being in his costume, but he only wore it for a little while.

Blessing Day
This is the day Isaac was blessed. Jake blessed him on July 15-Jake's 23rd birthday. Isaac was almost 2 months old. We decided to wait a little longer than usual because we wanted as many family members there as possible and also because he was so tiny when he was born he needed to grow a little so his blessing outfit would fit. I was so worried that he would cry during the blessing, but he was wonderful and slept through most of church that day. He was so handsome in his little outfit that we took him to JCP to have profressional pictures taken.

Flash Back...
Jake and I were married in Nauvoo, Illinois on December 20, 2o05. It was FREEZING!!! Only about 20 degrees-Brrrr! It was wonderful and everything we wanted. This is one of the best pictures, though we didn't get very many good ones. The photographer was not all that great unfortunately.

Lookin' Good
This is Isaac the day we came home from the hospital. I bought this outfit and loved it-it was so tiny! And then Isaac was here and he was so much tinier! He wore preemie clothes for a good month-but boy is he growing quickly!

The Blogging Begins
Well, it seems like everyone else is starting a blog so we figured we should catch up with the times. There will be pictures from now (mostly of little Isaac) and then (when Jake and I started dating almost 6 years ago) and a little commentary here and there. I know pictures are much more fun!
