It's Official!

So a few of you have noticed my little baby widget or have read my subtle mentionings of baby #2. Well, I had my first appointment today and it's official-I'm pregnant! My due date is February 10th(ish). Not that I have anything against Valentine's Day-I just hope I don't deliver that day. I want baby to have his/her own special day. I've felt great (I'm one of the lucky few who don't get sick) and look forward to another healthy pregnancy. I'm not hoping either way for a girl or a boy-there are certainly reasons for and against each, but I'll really be happy with either. (What other choice do I have anyways!?!?) Here's a couple pictures from my ultrasound-they aren't as good as the first ones of Isaac, but this baby was moving around a lot and Isaac was very still during my first appointment with him. We are looking forward to being parents again and just hope and pray that all goes as smoothly as last time. :)

8 Random Facts

My sister tagged me to list 8 random facts about myself-since I just did three in my list 3 things tag, I am only going to list 5. (If you are desperate for 8-scroll down.)

1. I can get brain freeze from cold tap water. I have a really sensitive cold meter I guess. I can't eat slushies-those are like torture. I get this from my Dad-I suppose there are worse things to pass on to your children.

2. I have a strange, natural talent of good grammar. I notice when people use apostrophes when they shouldn't (use it when it possessive not plural, please!), when except and accept, effect and affect, etc. are misused. The thing that drives me nuts though is when people use I instead of me. For example, it is incorrect to say, "Joe came to see Bob and I." You need to say, "Joe came to see Bob and me." Reason: you wouldn't say, "Bob came to see I." Make sense? It doesn't to most people so I just deal with it. It really doesn't bother me all that much-most people were taught grammar by mean, old, way-past-retirement middle school teachers. I don't blame you!

3. I went to three different schools in kindergarten and three different schools in 4th grade. My dad was in the military and we were between moves.

4. I am obsessed with Swedish Fish-I can eat a whole bag (like the $3 bag) in about 15 minutes and still want more. Needless to say, I don't buy them all that often.

5. I HATE commercials. I change the channel on the radio or mute the TV when they come on. I don't really have a reason-I suppose I don't like useless spending and there are very few helpful commercials that actually have a point. Jake has finally learned that if he has the remote it's better to just mute it during the commercials rather than listen to me ask every 8 minutes when the show takes a break.

Alright, I suppose I am supposed to tag people-if you want to do this, you are tagged. Boring, I know. :)

Photos...Finally!!

So I tried to take Isaac for his one year pictures a couple weeks ago (yes, I know-his birthday was in May but life was busy and blah blah blah). I took him to JCPenney and it was a nightmare! He just bawled hysterically the whole time. The studio was dark and they wanted me and Jake to sit on either side of him and then have him look forward at the photographer-yeah, that worked real well. Needless to say, we didn't get a single shot and we left with intentions of going elsewhere. I've always taken him there and he's done fine-guess it was just that day. So today I took him to Portait Innovations over by Jordan Creek Mall. I was worried because the first time I sat him down he started crying. Then the photographer got out that little rocking chair and his mood changed instantly. Not that it was a perfect photo shoot, but he did SO much better than at JCP. Naturally, it ended up costing me much more than I would have spent at JCP, but oh well-I'll just take each of my kids there for their 1 year pics and then JCP the rest of the time. Here are a few good ones-isn't he adorable!!!

Wipeout

Alright...I have to admit something and then share my sick joy with the rest of the world. I LOVE watching people fall down. I don't know why-I know most people think it's pretty funny, but I am usually hyperventalating by the end of a falling segment on America's Funniest Videos. I also spend free time watching videos of people falling on YouTube. And now I'd like to introduce my new all-time favorite show: Wipeout! It can be seen Tuesday nights (that's tonight, people!!!) on ABC. I think I may end up with some serious ab muscles by the end of this show thanks to all the laughing. In fact, I cry every time I watch it because I laugh so hard. And just to get you all hooked, here's the first segment from the first episode (don't worry-there's over an hour's worth of segments all on YouTube-Hooray Hooray!). Enjoy-it's stinkin' hilarious!!!!!

Well...I was going to embed the video, but either I don't really know how or Blogger won't let me-something about a movie something or other. So...just click this link and it will take you to the video.

Yummy Yogurt

Yogurt has been one of those hit and miss foods with Isaac-if he eats it, he only eats a little, but considering he won't drink much milk, I'm take calcium from where ever. I tried to post a video a couple weeks ago of him going crazy with a container of yogurt, but it must have too big of a file because after SIX hours it still didn't upload. I think I may investigate YouTube and try it that way. Anyways...we tried yogurt again today. We each had a spoon-it makes him feel more involved I guess. He didn't want me to feed it to him so he finally realized he could dunk the spoon in the container, put the spoon in his mouth, and tada! yogurt! He only did a few times and of course I didn't get those parts on camera. What you're getting is the end result of a 13 month-old with yogurt and two spoons. Needless to say, bathtime immediately followed breakfast today. Oh, and his highchair was totally dismantled and scrubbed (as seen in the kitchen sink picture below). Please also notice the massive amount of yogurt in his hair (but only on the right side for some reason!). Even after a bath, his head still smells like strawberries. What a mess!

Picture Tag

Debbi did this tag and passed it along. I thought I'd try it since I wouldn't have to cheat (by changing anything before I took the pictures). :) The rules: take a picture of all the things listed without changing anything before doing so. Try it-it's great fun!

1. The Fridge-luckily I just cleaned it out yesterday. Not that it was dirty-just full of old leftovers that needed to be tossed.

2. The Kitchen Sink-I hate having dishes in the sink so if they aren't in the dishwasher they are on the counter. I had already done the breakfast dishes so my sink was nice and empty. My sponge looks kind of icky-I wish they made black ones so I didn't have to see all the tomato and grease stains!

3. The Toliet-the only one we have. Well, we have a second one but it's not in use yet. It's actually sitting in the unfinished bedroom in our somewhat finished basement.

4. Your Bed-Someday Jake and I are going to get a real headboard and a new bed set. This one is that one he had on his bed through the last couple years of high school. Not that it's awful-it's just not the look I'm going for.

5. Self-Portrait-ahh...the glamorous me...we are going camping tonight so there is no way I'm worrying about my make-up or hair just to take longer to get ready for bed at the campsite. Not that I usually have make-up on or my hair done during the week-I just have an extra excuse today!

6. Favorite Shoes-Just bought these at Target last month. They are sooooo comfy! Not the best traction and there's not a lot I can wear them with, but I love them!

7. What are your kids doing now? Well, Isaac is sleeping and lest I wake him up (which would end this blogging session) you get a picture of him sleeping from a while ago. Baby #2 (according my book I just read last night) is developing boy or girl parts.

8. Your Closet-It's pretty sad how small our closet is. I don't know that these pictures do it justice. However, being a stay at home mom, I don't need a lot of space to hang up clothes because most of what I wear doesn't need to be hung up. Plus all my skirts and dresses are in Isaac's closest (which is about half the size of ours!). The picture of Jake's side is a little reflective-if you will-because his EMT shirts have little reflective trim on the sleeves. As for the glowing circles down by the floor-that's anyone's guess!

9. Favorite Room-well, this is our living room. I don't know that it's my favorite room but it's where we spend most of our time (excuse the laundry-it goes in Isaac's room and, as mentioned before, he's asleep). I was originally going to take a picture of my craft/sewing/scrapbooking/card-making/dining room, but it's covered in a project that I'm working on as a gift for someone who might see this before they get that gift.

10. Place you would like to go on vacation right now-I love cruises! I've been on two and hope to go on one again someday. Jake and I went on the Disney Cruise with his parents when we were dating and it was SO much fun. We didn't have any kids with us and that made it even better. They have an adult beach on their private island (not that kind of adult beach!) and since it's the Disney Cruise everyone had kids except us and a few other people. The beach was about a mile long! I'd love to go again-with or without kids!

Backgrounds

I always think that everyone else has the cutest background for their blog-and I still am on the hunt for the perfect one for mine, but this one will do for now. I found this website (probably from someone else's blog-sorry for no credit where credit is due) and I really like it because it doesn't erase any of my lists or widgets. Hooray! The blogger templates are so boring. So I just thought I'd pass along my findings (that I stole from someone else!). Enjoy!
